Pakistan foreign exchange reserves fell sharply

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan liquid foreign reserves fell by $591 million.

Total reserves held by the country stood at US$14,017.8 million on December 21, 2018.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

- Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan : US$ 7,457.3 million - - Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 6,560.5 million - - Total liquid foreign reserves : US$ 14,017.8 million

During the week ending December 21, 2018, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$591 million to US$7,457.3 million, due to external debt servicing and other official payments.
