PM Imran Khan briefed by Ministry of Interior

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan says curbing corruption and retrieving wealth of the country, amassed through illegal means and laundered abroad, are among the biggest challenges for the government.

He was speaking at a briefing on functions of Ministry of Interior by Secretary Interior Yousaf Naseem Khokhar in Islamabad this evening.

The Prime Minister said every effort will made to accomplish these goals besides putting in place a robust system that could prove itself as an effective deterrent against such malpractices in future.

He emphasized upon the need for greater coordination between FIA and NAB to fight white collar crimes and other corrupt practices.

The Prime Minister said overseas Pakistanis are ready to bring their money to Pakistan and invest in various sectors of the economy.

However, he said we need to provide them an conducive environment that ensures safety and security of their lives and property.

Imran Khan said the Interior Ministry and its attached departments should play their role more effectively towards ensuring service delivery, improving overall security situation in the country and providing a sense of security to the citizens.
