PM inaugurates Diabetes Centre at Phulgaran in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has inaugurated a state of the art Diabetes Centre at Phulgaran in Islamabad.

It is the biggest centre for diabetes in the country.    

The ceremony was attended, among others, by Minister for Health Saira Afzal Tarar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed the confidence that it will be a pioneer institution in management and treatment of diabetes in Pakistan.    

He also announced a donation of 100 million rupees for the Centre on behalf of the Government.    

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that the centre provides quality care to the most deserving people of the society.   

He described completion of the centre as a major achievement as it would provide not only best healthcare to people of the area but from other parts of the country.     

He said there is need to support the centre as it would provide diagnostic, care and treatment facilities besides awareness, prevention, training and long-term management of this hidden disease.    

The Prime Minister appreciated that the management is providing free of cost or subsidized treatment to deserving patients. APP/AFP
