British HC meets CM Punjab in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Thursday.

Matters of mutual interest, Pak-UK relations and cooperation in various fields were discussed during the meeting.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan has achieved unprecedented success in the fight against terrorism.

He said that today’s Pakistan is more peaceful, secure, prosperous and economically stable as compare to 2013.

He said that Punjab government has set up energy plants worth billions of rupees in the province which have added thousands of megawatt electricity to the national grid.

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan said that UK gives great importance to its ties with Pakistan.

He said UK will cooperate with Punjab government in education, health, skill development and other social sectors.

He also commended the measures taken by the Punjab government for improving the living standard of the masses. APP/AFP
