RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army has decided to approach Afghanistan government and Military once again in order to sort out the bilateral differences and misunderstandings between the two neighboring states.
A high-level Pakistan Army delegation headed by Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Bilal Akbar is visiting Afghanistan on the direction of Army chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa.
The delegation met Afghanistan’s acting Defence Minister Tariq Shah Bahramee and the Afghan Army Chief Gen Muhammad Sharif Yaftali, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
The delegation assured Kabul that the Pakistan Army has control of all areas of the Pakistani side of the border and will not let its soil be used against Afghanistan.
The top-level delegation held talks with Afghan officials over bilateral border coordination measures, and conveyed condolences on behalf of General Bajwa over the loss of lives in the Mazar-e-Sharif attack and expressed solidarity with the Afghan forces and people.
Free medical treatment in Pakistan to those injured in the Mazar-e-Sharif attack was also offered by the delegation.
“Terrorists are a common threat and will be defeated once and for all,” Lt Gen Akbar said
The visit comes a day after former TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan confessed Afghanistan and India are funding the militant organisations for terrorism in Pakistan.
Afghan and Indian intelligence agencies gave funds and other assistance to TTP militants to fight Paksutan, Ehsan, who surrendered last week, said in a video released by Pakistan Army on Wednesday.
