Fine on late filing of Income Tax: Federal government makes important announcement

*ISLAMABAD – Federal government has announced important decision over latefiling of income tax returns.*

*Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar on Tuesday announced that thegovernment has decided to waive a penalty imposed on late filers of taxreturns for years preceding 2017-18.*

In a tweet, the minister said: “The government has decided to waive thepenalty for late filing along with audit for Salaried Group of late filercases. These cases were selected for audit and penalty was prescribed bythe previous government.”

He reiterated the government’s resolve to facilitate the people in filingtax returns.
