LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has decided toapproach rival parties PML Q and PPP to restrain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaffrom forming its provincial government.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PML-N leader Hamza Shehbazsaid that his party emerged as the largest party in Punjab by bagging 129seats. He added that 27 independent candidates can also be recruited forforming the provincial government.
The son of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif said that they willalso talk to Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid(PML-Q), besides vowing to rule Punjab.
He recalled that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif gave chance to the PTIfor making government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding, “I want to tellall Constitutional institutions that the government in Punjab will be madeby PML-N”.
He warned of strong reaction if the PML is barred from making thegovernment. Hamza alleged their mandate was stolen through pre-pollrigging, adding that they will expose the reality.
Talking about Imran Khan’s victory speech, he said that the PTI chief willhave to show performance after assuming the power.
According to the statistics released by the Election Commission ofPakistan, the results for as many as 294 seats of the provincial assemblyare out with Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz leading the race by securing 127seats.
The second party in line is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf which has secured 122seats of the provincial assembly.
The independent candidates fall third in the race who have gained 29 seatsbecoming the swing factor in the elections.
Pakistan Muslim League has defeated the opponents on 7 seats of the contestfor the provincial assembly with Pakistan Peoples Party garnering 6 seats.
Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, PakistanAwami Raj secured single seat of the assembly that represents over 110million.
