ISLAMABAD: The trade deficit between Pakistan and China, during first eightmonths (Jul-Feb) of current fiscal year, shrank by 11.93 percent.
The trade deficit between the two countries decreased to $5.478 billion inJuly-February (2018-19) compared to the trade deficit of $6.22 billion insame period of the preceding year, according to a latest data released byState Bank of Pakistan.
The exports from Pakistan to China during the period under review increasedto US $ 1.15 billion compared to the exports of US $ 1.106 billion recordedduring Jul-Feb (2017-18).
Similarly the imports went down to US $ 6.628 billion in first eight monthsof current fiscal year from US $ 7.32 billion in same period of last year.

On year-on-year basis, the imports went down to US $ 686.078 million inFebruary 2019 against the imports worth of US $ 780.621 million recordedduring same month of last year.
While the exports of goods and services from Pakistan to China alsodecreased from US $ 127.308 million in February 2018 to $118.707 million insame month of current year.
