Congress leader Shashi Taroor declares Indian Citizenship Act 2019 as victory of Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah

NEW DELHI – Congress leader Shashi Tharoor speaking at a function in Jaipursaid that if the Citizenship Amendment Act led to the National PopulationRegister and the National Register of Citizens, then it would be thecomplete victory of Pakistan’s founding father Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed AliJinnah.

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has emphasizedthat the Kashmiri people are determined to continue their struggle tillthey achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

In a statement in Srinagar, the APHC also hailed the initiation of sixresolutions in the European Parliament against India and in favor of theimplementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.

The APHC said that the observance of the India’s Republic Day as a blackday by the Kashmiris all over the world has once again proved that thepeople of the disputed territory reject India’s illegal occupation of theirmotherland.

On the other hand, occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues to reel under themilitary siege and lockdown on 176th consecutive day, today. Amidrestrictions the people are facing growing shortage of food and medicines.

Meanwhile, over 300 eminent personalities from India, including actorNaseeruddin Shah and filmmaker Mira Nair in a joint statement in New Delhiexpressed solidarity with the students and others protesting against thecontroversial Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens.
