Pressure was exerted by former PM Nawaz Sharif on the administration, after which the release became possible. Senior journalist Javed Chaudhry, on his YouTube channel, stated that he and another journalist had requested Nawaz Sharif to play a role in the recovery of Imran Riaz, upon which Nawaz Sharif exerted pressure on the establishment and the administration, leading to the possible release of Imran Riaz.
Javed Chaudhry further mentioned that they had previously reported in their vlogs that Nawaz Sharif was advocating for Imran Riaz Khan's recovery.
They stated that Nawaz Sharif was aware of Imran Riaz's connection to the Sharif family, yet he engaged with the establishment based on humanitarian grounds for the recovery of Imran Riaz.
It should be noted that Sialkot police announced this morning that the renowned journalist and TV anchor Imran Riaz Khan had safely reached his home. Imran Riaz had been missing for over four months, and a case for his recovery was pending in the Lahore High Court.
Imran Riaz was arrested two days after the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on May 9, following nationwide protests and violent clashes.
