KARACHI – The Sindh High Court (SHC) has on Tuesday accepted for hearing a petition against Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, seeking investigation of US$70 million.
The petitioner contended that Michelle Obama, wife of former US president Barack Obama had donated US$70 million to spend on the education of Pakistani students, however, there is no record of spending of this huge amount of money.
Maryam Nawaz, National Accountability Court (NAB) chairman and PM House have been made parties to the case in the petition.
The petitioner prayed the court to order National Accountability Court (NAB) chairman to investigate into the matter.
The court adjourned the hearing until October 16 and directed the respondents to submit replies in the next hearing.
