The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has firmly rejected any potential postponement of the upcoming general elections, despite recent concerns voiced by President Arif Alvi during a televised interview.
In response to these speculations, the ECP issued a resolute statement, underscoring its state of preparedness and unwavering commitment to the electoral process.
The spokesperson representing the highest electoral authority announced that comprehensive preparations for the forthcoming general elections have been successfully concluded.
The statement further detailed the election timeline, indicating that the final list of constituencies is slated for publication on November 30, 2023. This announcement follows the completion of the first phase of constituency delineation, with the second phase, involving the examination of objections, set to conclude on October 27, 2023.
The ECP's statement went on to specify that the hearing of objections related to preliminary constituencies is scheduled to commence on October 30 or 31, underscoring the Commission's steadfast commitment to adhering to the established electoral schedule.
