Top Haqqani Network Commander killed in Afghanistan

KABUL - Top Haqqani Network Commander killed in Afghanistan, Afghan media has reported.
An airstrike in Mohammad Agha district of Logar killed a prominent Haqqani Network leader who had planned and faciliated some of the deadliest attacks in Kabul city, Khaama Press has reported.
According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, the security forces conducted the airstrike in Zarghoon Shahr Village, killing Qari Burhan.
The statement further added that Qari Burhan was in command of a notorious group and had planned and facilitated some of the deadliest attacks in Kabul city.
He had planned and conducted the 2017 attack close to Jamhuriat Hospital which killed 103 people and wounded 235 others, the defense ministry said, adding that he had planned and facilitated the attack on a high rise building in Abdul Haq Square in 2011.
Qari Burhan had also planned and facilitated some deadly attacks in Kabul including a car bomb attack in 2015 which wounded 400 people and the attack on Alburz Township.
