At the United Nations, Pakistan has stressed United Nations to address the lingering Kashmir and Palestine issues.
Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan permanent representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi said women suffer disproportionately from the violence perpetrated by foreign occupation forces.
Elaborating the miserable plight of women in Kashmir and Palestine, she lamented that women and particularly young girls remain a soft target in these conflict zones.
The Pakistani envoy called on the international community to ensure equal attention to all the four pillars of the Women, Peace and Security agenda for promoting and safeguarding the interests of women in conflict situations.
