5 crore people across 36 districts in Punjab to get Health Cards

MULTAN: Provincial Minister for Health Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said on Monday that 50 million people across the 36 districts of the province would be facilitated under Health Card Scheme.
During her visit of Government Fatima Jinnah Hospital, Government Shahbaz Sharif District Hospital and Nishtar Hospital here, Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that it was top priority of the government to provide best healthcare facilities to masses. She said the “Health Card Scheme” would be started from South Punjab. She said that provincial government would establish three “Mother and Child Care” hospitals in the province, out of which, one would be established in Multan.
The minister directed CEO District Health Authority Dr. Munawar Abbas to ensure availability of medicines at Fatima Jinnah Hospital and warned that there should be no complaint regarding the issue. She said that government attaches great importance to provision of health facilities to women.
Dr.Yasmeen announced that separate wards would be established in each hospital of the South Punjab for mentally challenged people where they would be extended maximum facilities.
She said that revolutionary steps were being taken in health department to provide a sigh of relief to the masses which would be remembered for a long.
Later, she also met the office bearers of Pakistan Medical Association Multan Chapter at Nishtar Medical University and ensured to resolve the issues faced by the doctors community. - APP
