Two bombs thrown at BJP state headquarters, after PM Modi left office

BHUBANESWAR: Two bombs were hurled at the state headquarters of BJP, nearly an hour after Prime Minister Narendra Modi left the state capital after addressing a public meeting in Cuttack <link> on Saturday evening. The miscreants were identified as Pinaki Mohanty <link> and Biswajit Mallik. Panki was earlier arrested for BJP’s Odisha office <link> barging into the chamber of the party state president Basant Panda with a gun that was later found to be a toy.
City DCP Anup Sahu said it was a cracker. “Prima facie, it appeared that they had committed it to draw attention. We are verifying the antecedents of the duo. There was no damage to property. No one was injured in the incident,” he told TOI.
