PTI govt to carry on zero tolerance policy against corruption

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water Resources, Faisal Vawda said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would carry on zero tolerance policy against corruption.

No compromise would be made on the issue of corruption, and those found involved in plundering national money would have to face consequences according to law, he stated while talking to a private news channel.

As far the cases of the leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) were concerned, he said, “We have no role in registering the corruption cases against them.”

National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was performing duties independently and the government had no influence over it, he added.

Faisal said PPP and PML-N had ruled the country for sixteen and fourteen years respectively, but we could not see any recovery of looted money in the last thirty five years.

To a question, he said the present government was not responsible of any wrong-doing made in the past.

The PTI government, he said, would take all possible measures to streamline the system.

Replying to another question, the minister said the case of Ayan Ali in money transferring matter was registered during the tenure of Chaudhry Nisar.

He said anyone found involved in money laundering or corruption activities would bear the punishment as per law.
