The United States Consulate General in Karachi has temporarily cancelled all official and unofficial travel of U.S. government personnel traveling to and from Jinnah International Airport Karachi until further notice.
In a warning issued on Tuesday, the US consulate advised its citizens that the risk for violence at or near the airport in Kartachi is elevated at this time. “US citizens are reminded that there is an active Travel Warning for Pakistan and a Worldwide Caution.”
The warning came following intelligence reports that terrorists intend to hit the Jinnah International Airport.
The consulate urged the US citizens to defer all non-essential travel to Pakistan.
