Religious Party protests over MQM chief's anti-Pakistan statements

PESHAWAR: (APP) Al-Sunnat wal Jamat KP Friday observed `Protest Day' to lodge protest and condemnation over the statement of MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain uttering derogatory remarks about the country's integrity.
According to a press release issued here, protest processions were held in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa addressed by leaders of the religious party.
In provincial metropolis (Peshawar), the protest rally was taken out in Yakatoot area where participants marched through different bazaars on their way to Qissa Khawani bazaar.
The participants of the rally were holding play cards inscribed with slogans of `Pakistan Zinda Bad', adds the press release.
Speaking to the participants of a rally in Battagram district of KP, President Al-Sunnat wal Jammat KP, Allama Atta Muhammad Zeeshani demanded strict punishment for Altaf Hussain for uttering anti-Pakistan statements. "The MQM chief should be charge under treason case," Zeeshani added.
He said treason was very serious crime and if MQM chief was not given strict punishment for his crime, the Al-Sunnat Wal Jamat will hold protest processions at country level.
Allama Atta Muhammad Zeeshani said the statement issued by MQM Chief had hurt the sentiments of people of Pakistan so he must be punished.
