Punjab Government regularise National Programme for Family Planning workers

LAHORE: (APP) On the orders of Chief Minister Punjab, provincial government has regularized 52,000 employees of National Programme for Family Planning (NPFP).

The regularized employees included Lady Health Workers (LHVs), LHWs, LHSs, Accounts Supervisors and drivers.

According to handout issued here Thursday, regularization orders would be implemented from July 2012 and Punjab Civil Servant Act 1974 would be applicable on them.

Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Kh. Salman Rafique distributed regularization orders among the office bearers of Lady Health Workers Association Punjab including its President Rukhsana Anwer. Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, DG Health Dr. Mukhtar Husain Syed, Addl. DG Health IRMNCH programme Dr. Nusrat Jabeen, Addl Secretary Health Adnan Zafar and other officers were present.

While appreciating the services of LHWs, Kh. Salman Rafique said that Lady Health Workers were playing pivotal role in spreading health education in the community and promoting prevention programme. He said that LHWs are the big source for the promotion of mother and child health Programme.

Salman Rafique hoped that after getting orders of regularization, LHWs would perform their duties with dedication and devotion for creating a healthy society.
