Federal Finance Minister Muftah Ismail has said there is no chance of an immediate increase in the prices of petroleum products.
People needn’t get fuel tanks filled, he said while speaking during a private TV channel programme Monday.
The finance minister said the government has no plan to change any law that could affect Pakistan’s ties with the IMF.
So far, there is no plan to undo the SBP autonomy bill, he added.
The finance minister told the media yesterday that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to a one-year extension and the final agreement will be signed in May.
“The current government is bound to fulfill the commitments made by the last government under Imran Khan as these were made by the government, not Imran Khan," he added.
