Imran Khan granted relief from IHC

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq expressed his stance during a court proceeding, emphasizing the necessity of relocating Imran Khan from Attock to Adiala Jail. This call for transfer stemmed from the fact that Imran Khan was facing legal proceedings in Islamabad.

Attorney General Mansoor Awan was actively presenting his arguments within the context of a case initiated by the former prime minister, who had petitioned the court to enhance the conditions of his incarceration.

In further elaboration of his point, Justice Farooq pointed out that it was customary for under-trial prisoners from Islamabad to be housed in Adiala Jail. This observation raised questions about the potential need to change the location of the case hearings if Imran Khan was subsequently moved to Rahim Yar Khan.

The attorney general, however, cited that Imran Khan's placement in Attock was in accordance with a court order related to a cipher case, to which the judge retorted that this order had been issued after the former prime minister had already been imprisoned.

This discourse within the courtroom highlighted the intricacies surrounding Imran Khan's detention location and the legal considerations associated with his case, thereby shedding light on the ongoing legal proceedings and their implications.
