Good news for Hajj pilgrims: Government to introduce shorter duration Hajj program

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a brief-duration Hajj program for Pakistani pilgrims. Starting from the next year, a Hajj package of 18 to 20 days will be introduced.

A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs was chaired by Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. Aniq Ahmed, the Minister of State for Religious Affairs, also participated in the meeting.

During the committee meeting, various aspects of organizing Hajj 2023, including logistical arrangements and addressing any issues, were discussed. A briefing was also provided on the "Road to Makkah" program, among other matters.

Minister Aniq Ahmed mentioned that the brief-duration Hajj will span from 18 to 20 days, and the decision regarding whether it will be a 40-day or brief-duration Hajj will ultimately be made by the intending pilgrims themselves.

The Committee Chairman suggested that the duration of the brief-duration Hajj should be considered within the range of 18 to 30 days, and Minister Aniq Ahmed agreed to further deliberate on this recommendation.
