The Federal Investigation Agency's Corporate Crime Circle in Lahore, under the directives of its Director, conducted raids on a residence located at Nisbat Road in Gawalmandi. During the operation, they successfully recovered currency notes worth Rs21.8 million.
This action is part of a broader initiative led by the Director of the FIA Lahore Zone to combat illegal currency trading and the 'hundi' mafia. The individuals, Hamzullah and Ayazullah, who were engaged in the unlawful activities of 'hundi' transactions and the trading of both domestic and foreign currency, were apprehended during the raid. A substantial sum of domestic currency, totaling two crore eighteen lakh Pakistani rupees, was confiscated from these individuals.
The suspects were allegedly causing significant economic harm to the country by accepting substantial amounts of money from various sources in Lahore and facilitating their illegal transfer abroad through 'hundi' channels. Authorities are actively pursuing the apprehension of other individuals involved in this illicit operation.
This crackdown underscores the government's unwavering commitment to combatting unlawful activities that pose a threat to the nation's economy. It also emphasizes the critical role of regulatory oversight in preserving the integrity of the country's financial system.
