Another key PTI activist arrested

After their release from Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Monday night, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women activists found themselves re-arrested by the police.

Even though the Anti-Terrorism Court had granted bail to these women activists, the police apprehended them on different charges. Despite being released on bail, PTI's detained female activists, including Sanam Javed, Afshan Tariq, Ashima Shuja, and Shah Bano, were once again taken into custody by the police outside the jail gates.

Earlier in the day, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore had accepted the bail bonds presented for nine PTI activists, including Rubina Jameel and Sanam Javed, and issued their release orders.

The ATC had granted bail to PTI activist Sanam Javed Khan and others in the Jinnah House attack case on Saturday. Judge Arshad Javed made this decision upon receiving surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each.

Family members and friends of PTI activists, such as Sanam Javed, Rubina Jamil, Afshan Tariq, Asma Shuja, Shah Bano, Syed Faisal Akhtar, Qasim Ali Hasan, and Hussain Qadri, submitted the bail bonds.

Once the bail bonds were collected, the court issued a release warrant for the women, instructing the jail superintendent to set them free.
