ISIS Flag in Islamabad, Who is behind it

ISIS Flag in Islamabad, Who is behind it
ISLAMABAD - A flag resembling that of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was seen waving in Islamabad’s Khana area on Sunday morning, before being removed by the local police after a citizen reported the matter.

Besides having Arabic inscriptions, the flag also bore the phrase: "Khilafat is coming".

This can be seen as an indication that ISIS or individuals influenced by it are trying to spread the ideology of the terrorist group in Pakistan.

The officers also arrested a local, Naveed, who informed about the flag while they said that the identification of the suspects through CCTV footages is underway.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has taken notice of the issue and sought report from Inspector General (IG) whereas State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry, talking to Voice of America, assured to have lodged a case into the matter.

He said that special team has also been formed as no such activity will be tolerated.

However the purpose of hoisting flag has probably been achieved as anti state agents just wanted to depict the presence of the ISIS in Pakistan capital which otherwise is not there but with this act they have been able to seek national and international media attention on this issue and portray presence of ISIS near Pakistan capital hub.
