PM Imran Khan holds important meeting over the tax base expansion

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan has underscored the importance of expanding the tax base in order to enhance capacity of the government to provide better facilities to the people.
He was talking to Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Shabbar Zaidi and Chairman National Database and Registration Authority Usman Yusuf Mobeen who called on him in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said increasing the tax net will not only reduce burden on existing tax payers but will also ensure provision of health, education and other civic facilities to people living in far flung areas of the country.
Imran Khan said paying taxes is a national obligation but restoring trust of tax payers is of crucial significance.
He said government is making efforts to bring transparency into the tax system so that every patriotic citizen plays its role in national development.
