CPEC: PM Imran Khan seeks joint ventures, transfer of technology

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government will remove all the obstacles in the way of investors in the country.

He was addressing inaugural ceremony of Deli-JW Glass Manufacturing Complex, a Pakistan-China joint venture in private sector, in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Prime Minister said the government will ensure ease of doing business. He said investment in Pakistan will be encouraged, which will help generate employment opportunities and alleviate poverty.

Imran Khan said Pakistan wants joint ventures in private sector and establishment of Special Economic Zones and transfer of technology under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He expressed hope CPEC will prove a base to build future relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said he is looking forward to going to China next week to further strengthen trade and economic bilateral ties.

He said the government will also bring foreign investment to the country for its housing project of constructing five million affordable houses for people.

Earlier Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said Deli-JW Glass Manufacturing Complex is the beginning of joint ventures in private sector between the two countries.

He said the Chinese leadership will encourage similar business ventures between the private sectors of the two countries. He said Chine would like to be a partner in a brighter Pakistan tomorrow.

He said the Chinese leadership looks forward to Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to China next week.
