Baba Guru Nanak 547th Birthday celebrations starts in Nankana Sahib

ISLAMABAD: Founder of Sikhism, Baba Guru Nanak’s 547th birthday anniversary celebrations has begun in Nankana Sahib. Strict security arrangements have been made by police. As per details, Sikhs from all over the world have reached in Pakistan to participate in the celebrations of their spiritual leader Guru Nanak. The celebrations will continue three days. Walk through gates have been fixed at the entry points of Gurdwara Janam Asthan to avert any unpleasant event at the occasion. Police also has cordon off all area of Gurdawara. Irrelevant persons will not be allowed to enter in Gurdwara. Thousands of Sikhs have reached in Pakistan from India through Wagah border via trains. Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman Sidiqul Farooq welcomed the Sikhs on their arrival in Pakistan at Wagah border. Fool proof security arrangements were made at the Wagah Railways Station by Pakistan Railways Police (PRP). PRP Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Makhdoom Qaiser Bashir said, security is at red alert as we have intelligence information that RAW may try to sabotage the activity in connection with the rising Khalistan movement and unrest in India which it alleges to be supported by Pakistan. The Sikhs will stay in Pakistan for 10 days. The celebrations include different rituals including Shabad Kirtan, Matha Teki, Ardas, Ashnan and visits to gurdwaras.
