Government forms committee for reinforcement of PEMRA

ISLAMABAD: Government has decided to constitute a committee here at today to reinforce PEMRA in the light of Supreme Court remarks.
As per details, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid chaired a meeting to discuss about the laws of PEMRA. Information and Law Ministries officials also participated in the meeting.
The participants of the meeting reviewed the PEMRA Laws and formed a committee to review the legal aspects in order to reinforce PEMRA while committee would present its report to Broadcast Ministry after finalizing its suggestions.
The committee would prepare suggestion for the improvement of PEMRA laws and recommended new legislation for PEMRA.
