Holding fairs promote culture, provide healthy entertainment: NA speaker

ATTOCK: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said holding fairs at local level was helpful not only to promote and keep alive our rich culture but also to provide healthy entertainment to people.
He said this while addressing a concluding ceremony of Attock Spring Festival here.
On the occasion MNA Tahir Sadiq, MPA Malik Jamshed Altaf, Convenor Jamrez Khan, Sardar Wajid Ali, Chairman Muncipal Committee Attock Sheikh Nasir Mehmood, Vice Chairman Malik Tahir Awan and others were also present.
The speaker said Attock Festival had given a chance to people to come togather, have better understanding and promote love, unity and brotherhood.
Asad Qaisar said such festivals also strengthen relationships and the youth get an opportunity to enjoy healthy entertainment.
He said to provide better traveling facilities to the people of this area construction of Faqeerabad-Tarbela and Tarnol-Khushal Garh roads would be started soon while a model village would also be established in Attock.
Asad Qaiser appreciated the efforts of MNA Tahir Sadiq for organizing this event which provided healthy entertainment to the people of Attock district and near by areas.
Later, the speaker gave away trophies and prizes to the position holders of tent pegging, clay pigeon shooting, Dog Race, Cycle Race, Tanga Race, Kabadi, Luddi Dance, Khattak Dance and other events.
It is worth mentioning that Attock Spring Festival was organized by MNA Tahir Sadiq and Chairperson District Council Attock Eman Tahir.
Almost 400 horse riders who had come from Azad Kashmir, Murree, Gujjar Khan, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mianwali, Khushab, Jhang and Sargodha participated in tent pegging.
A large number of people from Attock district and other areas enjoyed the event.
