Hazrat Shah Hussain Madhu Lal Urs: Thousands of devotees throng the shrine

LAHORE – Thousands of devotee visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Hussain popularly known Madhu Lal Hussain to pay tribute to the great Punjabi Sufi saint on the first day of the three-day Mela Chiraghan (Festival of Lights).
The devotees showered rose petals on the shrine of Shah Hussain and Madhu Lal and performed ‘dhamal’ to the beat of drums. Many lit candles as a ritual for fulfillment of their wishes and distributed sweets and other food items. Fire torching and lighting candles are an integral part of the event.
The day’s proceedings began with ‘Rasm-i-chadarposhi’ at the shrine.
Stringent security arrangements have been made on the occasion.
