West Indies defeat South Africa to reach in Semifinals 
NEW DELHI: West Indies defeated South Africa in ICC T20 World Cup match by three wickets to reach Semifinals.

 

West Indies has become the 2nd team after New Zealand to qualify for semi finals.

 

South Africa opted to bat first and set a target of 122/8 with eight boundaries and two sixes in 20 over game.

 

Left-handed South African player Quinton remained top scorer with 47 off 46 balls while David Wiese scored 28 off 26 balls with 2 boundaries.

 

West Indian Russell got 2 wickets, Chris Gayle 2 and Dwayne Bravo also got 2 wickets.

 

West Indies chased the target with the help of 10 boundaries and three sixes.

 

Samuels contributed 44 off 44 balls and Charles 32 ff 35 balls in the victory.

 

England’s Chris Morris got 2 wickets while Imran Tahir, Kagiso Rabada, David Wiese and Aaron Phangiso got one wicket each.

 

Now South Africa’s fate for semis depends on Saturday’s match between England and Sri Lanka.

 

If England win the match then it will secure its position in semi-final and the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa will be a formality.
