PCB announced attractive and incentive based central contract for 10 elite women cricketers

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced attractive and incentive-based 12-month central contracts for 10 elite women cricketers on Tuesday which will come into effect from July 1.

Previously, six-month contracts were signed with the players, however, the cricket board has jacked up the retainer remuneration of Category A by 20 percent.

Category A includes Nida Dar and Sana Mir while 18.5 per cent increase for Category B has been announced which includes players: Aliya Riaz, Bismah Maroof, Javeria Wadood, Nashra Sandhu, Sidra Ameen and Sidra Nawaz.

The players falling in Category-C would get an 18 percent increase in compensation; Diana Baig and Nahida Khan comprise the category.

In a bid to bridge the difference between men and women cricketers, the PCB has also increased the daily allowances by 100 percent during camps in Pakistan and 50 percent rise in daily allowances whilst on foreign tours.

Moreover, the PCB has also confirmed business class travel on all international flights of more than five hours.

To improve the outlook of domestic tournaments, the PCB has also introduced a match fee of PKR10,000 per match for all cricketers to attract fresh talent in the game.
