Saudi air defenses foil Houthi missile attack on Riyadh

RIYADH: In Saudi Arabia, Air Defence Forces intercepted and destroyed two missiles launched by Yemeni Houthi militia over Riyadh.

Saudi-led coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki said in a statement some of the debris of the intercepted missiles landed on residential areas without causing any casualty.

Houthi-run media said Burkan missiles were fired at the Saudi defence ministry and other targets.

The attack was the first to target Riyadh since the Saudi-led coalition launched an offensive last week to capture Yemen's Hudaida port city. (Aljazeera)
