AJK PM: Conflicting reports about the new premier nomination

MUZAFFARABAD (APP): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) AJK President Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Sunday denied a news report aired by some private TV channels that he had been nominated for the slot of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister by the parliamentary party.

Raja Farooq, in a statement here, termed the news totally false and fabricated, saying that it was the sole power of PML-N chief and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to nominate the candidature for AJK premiership.

"The newly elected parliamentary party of PML-N, which met here Sunday, reposed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif through a resolution and decided the strategy for the elections on reserved seats of the Legislative Assembly," he added.

The parliamentary party, he said, also expressed confidence in his (Raja Farooq's) leadership as the President of AJK PML-N and paid tribute to federal ministers Birjees Tahir, Senator Parvaiz Rasheed and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani for running a successful campaign of the party in AJK.
