Pakistan imposes heavy duty over cotton import from India

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan imposed duty up to Rs56 on per kilogram import of cotton thread from India’s Tamil Nadu, Ludhiana, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and other cities.

Imported cotton was causing huge losses to domestic farmers.
Chairman Cotton Ginners Forum Ehsanul Haq said that price of best available cotton in market has soared by Rs200 to Rs7000/maund.
