Pakistan calls for addressing root causes of conflicts to bring peace in World

At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for addressing the root causes of all conflicts to bring sustainable peace to the world.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi emphasized the need for resolving all long-standing political disputes including Kashmir and Palestine through peaceful means.
She said United Nations responsibility for sustaining peace flows from its Charter's promise of protecting economic and social development for all peoples.
Lodhi also stressed the need for implementing Sustainable Development Goals and achieving peace through transparent and participatory decision-making.
