Continuity of policies imperative for sustainable development: Ahsan

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says continuity of policies is imperative for sustainable development in the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday evening, he said that the economy of the country is taking off due to the prudent policies of the country.

He said the transparency and good governance of the government is being acknowledged by the international organizations.

He said Pakistan has improved by two points in the Corruption Perception Index of the Transparency International. He said that Pakistan's ranking will be further improved in future.

Ahsan Iqbal said the economy of the country has improved and the foreign exchange reserves have risen to 24 billion dollars.

He said the country was facing 20-hour power load shedding and electricity was available for only four hours and now the situation is reversed. He said the law and order situation has improved a lot in the country due to operation against the terrorists.

Minister for Planning and Development said that the growth rate has improved and six percent growth trajectory will be achieved next year and it will be further increased on the following years.

He said that one trillion rupees have been invested in the infrastructure development projects.

Ahsan Iqbal said that 17000 MW electricity was added in the national grid during the last seventy years and due to the efforts of the present government 11000MW will be added in the national grid.

He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor is the greatest project of the history and t will bring prosperity and development in the region.

Ahsan Iqbal said that no one will be allowed to sabotage the development trajectory of Pakistan. He said the whole nation is united to foil the designs of the enemies against CPEC.

Ahsan Iqbal said that PTI Chief is trying to create hurdles in the path of progress and development. He said Imran Khan has not succeeded even in a single case against the government due to transparent policies of the government.

To a question, Ahsan Iqbal said that Prime Minister will inaugurate Lowari Tunnel project this year. He said New Islamabad Air Port will be completed this year in August.
