US President delays increase in tariffs on Chinese goods

US President Donald Trump has delayed the increase in tariffs on Chinese goods, scheduled for Friday, citing the progress in trade talks between the two countries.
President Trump said in a tweet that progress has been made on a host of divisive areas including intellectual property protection, technology transfers, agriculture, services and currency. He said if progress continues, he and Chinese President Xi Jinping would seal a deal.
