MIRPUR (AJK): AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has strongly condemned the mass arrests of activists and leaders of freedom movement by the occupation forces in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), including top Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik as well as the leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami.
He demanded the international community to take notice of the continued Indian oppression in the IoK. He was speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour by Pakistan’s Ambassador to France Moin ul Haq in Paris Saturday, said a press statement released here by the AJK government.
Ambassador Moin ul Haq and and other officials of the embassy warmly received the prime minister upon his arrival. France-based members of Pakistani and Kashmiri community were also present on the occasion.
The AJK prime minister urged the international community to take immediate notice of the deployment of fresh troops of the occupational Indian military and paramilitary troops in the IoK. India already had over 700,000 armed troops there to perpetuate her forced and unlawful hold over the disputed held state, he underlined.
Haider said India had used bulk of her armed military and paramilitary force and brutal tactics to silence the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris but she failed badly.
He said the recent escalation of hate and violence against Kashmiris in the occupied valley was highly deplorable.
The AJK prime minister said thousands of Kashmiris were forced to leave their homes, businesses and their vehicles were burnt in broad daylight in various parts of the bleeding valley, while in various Indian states, Kashmiri students in the varsities were particularly being targeted.
Kashmiri students, he added, had been expelled from Indian universities and some were even forced to sing Indian national anthem.
