TEHRAN - Chabahar port has a key role in development of economic and political relations among the regional states, Deepak Mittal, an official affiliated to India's Foreign Ministry told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Chabahar is a good point of entry among Iran, India, Afghanistan and the countries in Central Asia, he noted.
The first meeting of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Chabahar Agreement between Iran, Afghanistan, and India was held in Iran’s southeastern port city of Chabahar on Monday with the attendance of delegations from the three nations.
Following the meeting of the transport officials of the three countries which took place in Iran’s capital of Tehran in November, today’s meeting saw the discussion of customs tariff, promoting customs transactions and rail transit, and the transportation process.
The Chabahar Agreement was signed in June 2015 and was later approved by Iran’s Guardian Council in November 2016.
