Indian girl commits suicide after being gang raped and blackmailed for several months

NEW DELHI - Indian girl committed suicide after being raped and blackmailed by two men for several months, *Hindustan Times link* reported.
Police claimed to have nabbed three suspects after her father recorded a statement on Thursday. In a note, the deceased accused Ravi and Balram of rape after drugging her. She said the men kept threatening to leak photos. The girl said one Poonam had been helping them blackmail her.
Police said the girl was taken to a hospital after swallowing poison on Wednesday. She had taken her father into confidence at the hospital and also mentioned how she had placed a note in her diary.
The deceased was then taken to Rohtak’s Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences after her condition deteriorated. She later died there.
The three suspects will be produced before court on Friday.
In 2013, after the now infamous rape and murder of a medical student aboard a bus in Delhi, the government announced those convicted of rape resulting in death would receive the death penalty.
