SC cannot direct NAB to file references against us: Sharif Family file petition

ISLAMABAD  – The children and son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have on Friday challenged the judgment of the Supreme Court in Panamagate case.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s children Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar filed review petitions in the Supreme Court over the Panamagate case judgment.

The petitions were filed by their counsels pleading the court to review the Panamagate case verdict.

The petitions contended that the Supreme Court could not direct NAB to file references against them.

Earlier, the apex court had on July 28 disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from public office over long-running corruption allegations, a decision that ousts him from the premiership for the third time.
