AJKLA adopts resolution condemning use of force by India against Kashmiris

The AJK legislative Assembly in its session held in Muzaffarbad today (Wednesday) adopted a unanimous resolution strongly condemning use of brute force by Indian troops against Kashmiri’s ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.

The resolution presented by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Sardar Farooq Ahmad Tahir says that Indian troops are torturing youth, children and women harassing hurriyat leaders and workers during so-called search and cordon operations.

The authorities book unarmed Kashmiris under black law, Public Safety Act and detained them in infamous jails wherein they are deprived of basic rights like health and food.

The house expressed solidarity with the illegally detained ailing Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik and condemned cruel treatment being meted out to him. Yasin Malik is in the custody of India’s infamous NIA in New Delhi.

The house appealed UN and other International Human Rights Organization to take a serious notice of the deteriorating health condition of Yasin Malik, pressurize India to provide him with better health facilities and help Kashmiri people get right to self-determination of Kashmiris for durable peace in the region.

Later, the speaker adjourned the session sine die.
