JI Chief Siraj Ul Huq announces country wide strikes from May 1

April 24 (APP): Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that the party would start campaign against corruption from May 1.

Addressing a sit-in here at Mall Road, Siraj said people of the country were deprived of basic necessities  and suffering from poverty. "Loans are taken by the rulers but it has to be paid  back by the people," he claimed.

Sirajul Haq said if elected to power the JI would launch a crackdown against those who were allegedly involved in plundering the national wealth.

He said even names of many opposition leaders had also come up in Panama Papers Leaks.

He demanded the government to hire foreign audit firms to investigate money trail of the Panama Leaks.

A large number of JI workers, including women and children, participated in the sit-in.

JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, Fareed Ahmad Piracha, Imran Khan's ex-wife Reham Khan and other were also present.
