KABUL – The Afghan Taliban and Afghan armed forces suffered heavycasualties during a coordinated attack that sparked heavy gun battle insouthern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan, Khaama Press has reported.

According to the local officials, the incident took place late on Saturdaynight in the vicinity of Chora district of Uruzgan.

Provincial administrative chief Aminullah Khaleqi confirmed that nineTaliban insurgents were killed and at least eleven others were woundedduring the clashes.

He said an Afghan army soldier also lost his life during the clashes andseven others were wounded.
