Pakistan to recognise Israel along with Saudi Arabia?

Pakistan has once reiterated its strong stance that Pakistan will not accept Israel until there is a solution to the Palestine cause. The issue has been highlighted pace again as Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed in UN General Assembly that Israel is very close to normalization of ties with Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore top Israeli officials have claimed that 5 or 6 other Muslim countries will join Saudi Arabia in recognising Israel which sparked speculation about Pakistan.

However Pakistan Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Gillani has refuted all such reports circulating on media.

Earlier in 2021, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had said his country will not recognise Israel until there is a Palestinian state acceptable to the Palestinians.

Khan said that Islamabad would not follow suit in recognising Israel as a state, in a thinly veiled reference to the United Arab Emirates which struck a United States-brokered deal last week to normalise ties with Israel.

“Whatever any country does, our position is very clear. And our position was made clear by [Pakistan’s founder] Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah … in 1948: that we cannot ever accept Israel as long as Palestinians are not given their rights and there is no just settlement,” Khan said.
