"In Mali, a Russian cargo plane crashed near the military airport in Gao. According to foreign news agencies, the Russian cargo plane crashed during landing at the airport in the northern Mali city of Gao.
Russian private military group Wagner has denied that the plane belonged to them, contrary to media reports. The plane crashed near Gao in northern Mali, and it is not clear from initial reports whether there were survivors on board. The plane belonged to the Russian Air Force and was an Ilyushin IL-76 aircraft.
Initial reports had suggested it was Wagner's plane, but the group quickly denied ownership. Wagner also cast doubt through its Telegram accounts that one of its mercenaries was on the plane."
