New York: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated that general elections can take place in Pakistan without Imran Khan as Imran Khan and his incarcerated colleagues from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were involved in the unlawful activities of May 9.
During his visit to New York, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, in an interview with a foreign news agency, stated that the elections will be held in the coming year, with no military interference in the elections. He dismissed claims of military intervention in the upcoming elections as entirely untrue.
He emphasized that the responsibility for conducting elections lies with the Election Commission, and since the current head of the Election Commission has been appointed by PTI Chairman, why would they object to it?
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar also mentioned that India has stationed 900,000 troops in Kashmir, and the local population is effectively imprisoned in a "big jail" with no political rights. This situation is a violation of the United Nations Charter, which calls for the right to self-determination and demands a UN-sponsored referendum.
